Royce's notes were handwritten memories

Flying Officer D.R.B. Mabee appears to have been his rank.

(as per the letter returning his birth certificate dated Sept 16, 1945)

There were 17 pages of handwritten notes, probably written over several months when something happened to jog his memory.

As I started to transcribe these notes, I realized that they might have more meaning if they could be put in chronological order.

Chapters 1 & 2 - Enlisting and Training in Ontario

  Chapters 3 & 4 - Model "A" and Aircraft Training

  Chapters 5 & 6 - England RAF and RCAF

Chapters 7 & 8 - Lancaster and Incidents on Missions

Chapters 8(continued) - Further Incidents on Missions

Chapters 9 - War in Europe is Almost Over
